So Joe Lieberman is on a 10-day bus tour through CT to talk about the future, you know, the one we might not have if the world continues on it's path to destruction through war and global warming (thanks Joe!). Anyway, he is not alone, the Kiss Float is following him around (ooh, there's video!). But it turns out, not many others are. From today's Courant:
Lieberman was greeted warmly at most stops, though he had his share of unscripted moments. In Meriden, he asked Richard Fuqua, the only customer in a diner, "How are you doing?"
"I believe I'm doing better than you are," Fuqua replied.
In Ansonia, Dorothy Bivens held a Lieberman sign on the sidewalk. A Mobile, Ala., resident visiting her daughter, Bivens seemed overcome when Lieberman stopped, shook her hand and thanked her for helping him on her vacation.
"I love Joe Lieberman," she said.
Asked why, her answer did not come from the day's suggested talking points: "Because he supports the president, and I support the president."
Holy cow, Jane says only 7 people showed up for Joe's events. And Maura notices that Joe won't answer questions about the war. You would think if Joe is so into calling this a one-issue race (which btw, it isn't -- Ned is far better than Joe on women's rights including the right to emergency contraception in the event of rape, education, energy, right to privacy, gay and lesbian rights to name a few), then he would actually want to talk about the one issue. He doesn't. See, except for the woman from Alabama above, people here in CT don't like the war.
Oh, and by the way, those Hug pins that are supposed to make us forget about The Kiss, they're not union. Can't write more, I need to run...
